Strasbourg

With the holidays quickly approaching I’ve been reminiscing about our visit to Strasbourg last November. What a treat it was to see all the beautiful holiday decorations streaming throughout the town. We booked our train ride from Paris Est station to Strasbourg station through Rail Europe. It was about a two hour train ride. We stayed at The Point City-Center Place Kléber at 2 rue de l’Outre – Place Kléber, which was very nice and located in the middle of everything (we booked it through Booking.com). We stepped out of the front door and into the town center.

“Capitale de Noël”

Strasbourg is actually known as the “Capitale de Noël”. It has a Christmas market every year. This year the Christmas market goes from November 24th to December 24th.

Strolling through Strasbourg during the holidays really warms your spirit — literally and figuratively — with warm drinks, including hot chocolate and hot white and red wine! To go along with the drinks are all sorts of pastries and desserts. There’s live Christmas music in the atmosphere and an array of decorations and displays that paint the scenery into a dazzling display of colorful lights. It’s truly magical and definitely worth the trip and really gets visitors into the Holiday mood.

La Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg

While we were there we visited the Notre Dame Cathedral, which also has a beautiful Nativity scene on display during the holidays.
